New Zealand’s accommodation options are numerous and there’s somewhere to stay to suit every travellers preference and budget.
From the back-to nature camping to 5 star quality luxury lodges New Zealand you will be sure to find something suitable. Our advice is not to leave booking your accommodation to the the last minute. The summer season is the busiest months for travellers, so to avoid disappointment, plan in advance and book your stay early. Below is a list of accommodation types:
Exclusive Luxury Lodge: This is your six star plus type accommodation. Stay at a luxury lodge and you will enjoy the services of a personal concierge, fine dining, extraordinary amenities (private pool, spa, beauty salon and more) panoramic views often situated within New Zealand’s most spectacular settings.
Bed and Breakfast: This type is for someone who is after a more intimate, relaxed type of stay, where you mingle and get to know the host. It’s a ‘home away from home experience’. Breakfast is usually included in the rate (either a continental or full cooked kiwi style breakfast) and you can have a choice of your room type – single or double.
Motels and Motorlodges: This type offers a range of units including studio, one or two bedroom units plus family sized units each with its own kitchen and bathroom. Most provide towels, tea, coffee, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryers and t.v.
Hotels: This type varies according to budget also. Typically a hotel offers accommodation in a variety of rooms, suites and apartment styles, along with hotel facilities such as a restaurant, bar, swimming pools, gyms and internet. Suited for individuals, couples or families.
Backpackers and Hostels: A cheaper option of accommodation – ideal if you are travelling on a shoe string budget, travelling alone and want to meet other travellers. This types offers share facilities including bathroom, kitchen and lounge. You often have a choice to either share a dorm room or pay a bit more for your own single or double room.
Apartments: Options to suit all budgets. Includes luxury resort-style apartments all self contained and fully furnished. Often located in popular holiday areas and beauty spots.
Holiday Parks and Campgrounds: A great option for the summer months these campgrounds provide powered sites and motel units. There are shared lodge style kitchen and living areas, shower and toilet facilities and access to running fresh water. Minimal rates are charged at Holidays Parks and Camp Grounds. Ask us about hiring tents, camping mats and sleeping bags with our additional hire gear.
Boutique and Heritage: This type appeals to a person with a flair for art and heritage. It covers a range including Art Deco villas, boutique hotels, rural homesteads, historic hotels and character inns.
